These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Dyad Quotient (dyadquotient.com), operated by an individual independent researcher ("the operator," "we," or "our"). By accessing or using this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Nature of This Service

Dyad Quotient is an independent psychometric research and educational tool operated by a solo developer. It is not a company, LLC, or licensed clinical entity. No accounts are required to use the platform, and no fees are charged for the assessment. The platform provides educational insights based on validated psychometric frameworks. It is not a clinical service, therapy platform, or licensed mental health resource.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service. By using Dyad Quotient, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. This platform is not intended for minors. There is no automated age-verification mechanism; users self-certify eligibility at the consent screen.

3. Educational and Research Purpose

All content, assessments, results, and insights provided by Dyad Quotient are for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this platform constitutes:

• Clinical diagnosis or psychiatric evaluation
• Mental health treatment or therapy
• Medical or professional psychological advice
• A recommendation to change or continue any existing mental health treatment

Assessment results are probabilistic, population-level profiles. They are descriptive, not deterministic predictions of behavior or outcomes. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or significant relationship distress, please consult a licensed mental health professional.

4. Research Data Consent and License

By completing the assessment and checking the consent box, you grant the operator a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use your anonymized response data for:

• Psychometric validation and instrument refinement
• Aggregated statistical analysis of relational patterns
• Academic research into personality and relationship science
• Future publication of aggregated, de-identified findings

No individual responses will be attributed, published, or disclosed. Your consent to research use can be withdrawn before assessment submission by not completing the assessment. After anonymous submission, retroactive withdrawal may not be feasible. See the Privacy Policy for deletion procedures.

5. Intellectual Property

Proprietary Content

The following are proprietary to the operator of Dyad Quotient and protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property law:

• Dyad Quotient™ — brand name and identity
• Dyad Pattern™ — the proprietary relational archetype classification system and taxonomy
• The six Dyad Pattern archetype names as applied to this psychometric taxonomy: The Frequency™, The Vault™, The Spillover™, The Fortress™, The Constellation™, and The Regulator™
• All written archetype descriptions, clinical insight narratives, and growth edge content associated with each Dyad Pattern
• The Dyad Pairing analysis framework and all written compatibility analysis content for each archetype pair
• The assessment item set, scoring methodology, subscale definitions, and archetype assignment algorithm
• All original site copy, visual design, editorial content, and Signal publication articles

Dyad Quotient™, Dyad Pattern™, and the six archetype names listed above are unregistered trademarks of the operator, claimed under common law trademark rights by virtue of commercial use. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or commercial exploitation of any proprietary content without written permission is prohibited.

Third-Party Academic Frameworks

This platform incorporates validated psychometric constructs from published academic research (e.g., Big Five personality theory, Adult Attachment Theory, Experiences in Close Relationships scale). These frameworks are in the public domain or used under fair use for educational and research purposes. The operator does not claim ownership of the underlying academic constructs, theories, or published instruments.

Your Response Data

You retain no proprietary claim to your anonymous assessment responses once submitted. By submitting, you grant the research data license described in Section 4.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the assessment methodology or scoring algorithm
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to submit assessments or scrape content
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure or servers
• Reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any proprietary platform content without written permission
• Submit fabricated responses with the intent to corrupt research data

7. Third-Party Services

This platform is built on third-party infrastructure including Google Firebase (data storage), Netlify (hosting), and Cloudflare (bot protection). Your use of this platform is also subject to the respective terms and privacy policies of those services. The operator is not responsible for third-party service outages, data handling changes, or policy updates.

8. Disclaimers

Dyad Quotient is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• The accuracy, completeness, or fitness of assessment results for any particular purpose
• Uninterrupted or error-free access to the platform
• That results will accurately reflect your personality, relationship health, or compatibility with any specific person

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of Dyad Quotient shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, this platform or its results — including but not limited to decisions made in reliance on assessment output, relationship outcomes, or mental health impacts.

The operator is an individual and does not carry professional liability insurance for this project. Use of this platform is entirely at your own risk.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of Dyad Quotient from any claims, liabilities, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the platform.

11. Privacy

Your use of Dyad Quotient is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and handle your data. By using this service, you consent to the data practices described there.

12. Modifications

These Terms may be updated at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising from your use of this platform shall first be submitted for informal resolution by emailing legal@dyadquotient.com. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction. You waive the right to participate in class action proceedings against the operator.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding your use of this platform.
