Privacy Policy

Dyad Quotient is operated by an individual independent researcher ("the operator," "we," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using this platform you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who Operates This Service

Dyad Quotient is an independent psychometric research project run by a solo developer. It is not a company, LLC, or licensed clinical entity. This project is conducted for educational and academic research purposes. It qualifies for exemption from formal IRB oversight under 45 CFR §46.104(d)(2) due to the anonymous, educational nature of data collection — however, no institutional affiliation exists and this exemption is claimed by the operator's own determination.

2. What We Collect

Assessment Response Data

When you complete the assessment, we collect your numeric responses to psychometric questionnaire items. No name, email address, or other directly identifying information is collected. Responses are linked to a randomly generated session identifier (UUID) that is not tied to your real-world identity.

Note on sensitivity: Psychometric and psychological characteristic data is classified as sensitive personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA, Cal. Civ. Code §1798.121). Although we do not collect your identity, we treat your response data with heightened care accordingly.

Optional Demographic Data

At the end of the assessment, you may optionally answer demographic questions including age range and gender identity. These questions are clearly marked optional, no default is pre-selected, and you may skip any or all of them with no effect on your results. If provided, this data is stored as part of your anonymous assessment record and used solely for group-level norm calibration and aggregated research analysis.

CCPA/CPRA sensitive data notice: Gender identity is explicitly classified as sensitive personal information under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.121. Collection is voluntary and limited strictly to the research purposes described in Section 3. We do not use gender identity data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond psychometric instrument calibration.

Derived Scores

Your raw responses are used to compute psychometric dimension scores and a relational archetype classification. These outputs are stored alongside your responses in our database.

Pairing Data (Optional)

If you use the partner pairing feature, a randomly generated pair code (UUID) links two anonymous assessment records. No identifying information is stored as part of this linkage.

Research analysis is performed on aggregated, anonymized data only. Individual records are never singled out or attributed. If you do not consent to research use, do not complete the assessment.

6. Data Security

Assessment data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with access governed by Firestore security rules. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by Google Cloud infrastructure. As a solo-operated project, we do not conduct formal third-party security audits. No system is completely secure, and use of this platform is at your own risk.

7. Data Retention

Anonymous assessment response data is retained indefinitely for research purposes unless a valid deletion request is submitted (see Section 8). Because data is collected without personal identifiers, records cannot be individually located after your session ends without your session UUID.

Optional feedback submissions (accuracy ratings and comments) are retained indefinitely in aggregate form for research validation.

8. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Because data is collected without personal identifiers, we cannot guarantee the ability to locate, access, correct, or delete a specific individual's record once the session ends.

To the extent technically feasible, you have the following rights:

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have rights to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information. Because our data is anonymous, some individual rights (e.g., access, correction) may not be technically fulfillable. To submit a request, contact privacy@dyadquotient.com.

We do not set proprietary cookies. The following third-party technologies set cookies or process usage data on this site:

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking Google Analytics or Turnstile cookies will not prevent you from taking the assessment, but blocking Turnstile cookies may prevent assessment submission.

10. Children's Privacy

This service is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. There is no automated age-verification mechanism; users self-certify their eligibility at the consent screen. If you believe a minor has submitted data, contact privacy@dyadquotient.com and we will make reasonable efforts to delete the record.

11. International Users and Data Residency

All assessment data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the us-central1 region (Iowa, United States). If you are accessing this service from outside the United States — including the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom — your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States.

The United States does not currently hold an adequacy decision from the European Commission for all data transfers. No Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other EU-to-US transfer mechanism has been formally implemented for this project. By using this service, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. EU/EEA users should be aware that GDPR protections may not fully apply.

This site may link to external resources (e.g., crisis support lines, academic references). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices change. The "Last updated" date above reflects when material changes were last made. Continued use after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
